Rita Maxine Berry-Gaudet

She was born in Winterville, Maine, a daughter to Camilla (Albert) and Donald Pelletier..

Rita cherished her family and embraced her role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to caring for her family, she impacted the lives of countless children through her work while owning and operating her daycare, The Berry Patch, in Windham.

She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Bill Berry, Terry Gaudet; and her 10 siblings.

Rita is survived by her loving children; Joelene and Peter Romanos of Springvale, Scott and Elizabeth Flaherty of South Portland, Colleen and Gary Tirabassi of Falmouth, Shawn and Ramona Flaherty of Fort Worth, Texas, Dan and Michele Flaherty of North Yarmouth, Matthew and Amanda Berry of Claremont, Florida; 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Rita is also survived by her first husband and life-long friend Robert Flaherty of Portland.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Church, 673 Stevens Ave. Portland. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A light luncheon will follow the interment at funeral home.
