OBITUARY FOR:
Ruby Tyler, age 103, of Apopka, Florida formerly of Portland passed peacefully Sunday morning October 15, 2023 at Brookdale Senior Care. Ruby would have celebrated her 104th birthday this coming December. She was born in Portland on December 19, 1919 the daughter of Christiania Coffin.
She attended Portland schools graduating from Deering High School. She also went on to graduate from beauty school. Ruby work for the former Porteaus, Mitchell & Braun on Congress Street, and worked for Brighton Avenue Pharmacy.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Portland.
Ruby was predeceased by her husband Harry Tyler, and her son, Harry S. Freeman, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Shibles of Longwood, Fl., grandsons; Stephen Shibles of Deltona, Fl, Matthew Shibles of Mount Dora, Fl., granddaughters; Kelly Nickerson and Kristin Koch of Buxton, Me, and seven great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Life for Ruby will be held Tuesday October 24, 2023 at 1PM at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Interment will follow at Tory Hill Cemetery, Buxton.
