Gregg, Dylan, Carly and Molly-
I think of you all the time as I am watching my boys and Dylan finish up Georgetown just as I did with Stef, Mo and Liz 31.5 years ago.  Stef was a great friend and roommate and subsequently we were pregnant with those boys at the same time and the kids met when we had dinner at Cactus Cantina and Gregg suggested we go to the Lincoln Memorial at night. I only can post one pic, but for some digital reason the pix of our 10 and under kids at the Lincoln Memorial at night always show up first in my photos- which I love because I am constantly reminded of our friendship and our family friendship. Stef was truly amazing in everything she did; we miss her a lot and are grateful for all our memories of the Herscowitz and Rothschild families but also the memories our boys are making today literally on O Street NW- Stef please look out for all of us as we miss you, your strength, advice and amazing energy and selfless, hilarious  personality !! I am so sorry and sad to hear of this tragic news.  I had the pleasure of working with Stefanie at Bannockburn Nursery School . She was always so much fun and game to do any project I had planned for that day- no matter how messy. I don't know why- but for some reason all I can do is keep picturing her in the cute doggie pajamas she wore to school to show her spirit on pajama day.  She was such a great person and I know she will be missed by all who were blessed to have her in their lives.  The world was a better place with her in it. I know there is a new star shining in the sky and she will be looking down on her beloved family.  May her memory be for a blessing.

Barbara and I and the entire Levitan family were saddened to learn of Stephanie’s accident and her untimely passing. Not only did we  enjoy the years we lived up the street but I was a counselor at one point at Camp Belgrade. We were able to hear the services and found them to be most moving. I never met Stefanie, but I'm sure I must have crossed her path many times - I'm sure she must have waved to me on my pontoon boat on Long Pond and me to her over the years! In this community you feel like you know someone from those friendly waves. I have been coming to Belgrade Lakes for over 15 years and living here for the past 6 years - my favorite spot on this planet. I wanted you to know that the whole community is grieving. Everywhere I go people are sad, concerned, and really want to help -  though we know there is nothing one can do but offer condolences. So I offer you my heartfelt condolences. Holly and I are devastated to hear just today that Stef was the victim of last week's freak storm.  We loved getting to know her and the family over the years here in Belgrade Lakes (including Dylan's loon calling, and got to know the Herscowitzs and spent a lovely evening with them at a "pizza guy" outdoor dinner on Long Pond a couple of years ago).
