

Falmouth, Maine - William Earl MacDonald, 85, of Blueberry Lane, died on October 8, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Plymouth, MA on November 22, 1928, a son of William J. and Hazel A. (Langille) MacDonald. He attended Plymouth schools, graduating from Plymouth High School and Bentley University.
Mr. MacDonald was Field Audit and Accounting Manager for the Travelers Insurance Company in their Portland, Maine office. He retired in 1984.
Mr. MacDonald, a Navy veteran, fought in the Korean War serving on the U.S.S. Epperson, DDE 719. He was a former Deacon and Trustee of the Falmouth Congregational Church, a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Kora Shrine.
He was pre-deceased by a son, James William, in 1972.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn (Carver) MacDonald; a son, Thomas and his wife Joelle of Scarborough, ME; a grandson, Caleb of Scarborough; a granddaughter, Lydia of Scarborough and a sister, Dorothy Isherwood of Dracut, MA.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Vine Hills Cemetery, 102 Samoset St., Plymouth, MA, 02360.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
