She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert A. and Nancy R. Tillman and was preceded in death by her sister, Betsy Kulick.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Keith Tillman, and a loving family of nieces and nephews: Drew, Scott, Ashley, Kelsey, Kevin, Thomas, and Lance.
Barbara’s dedication to education was truly remarkable—earning two master’s degrees from Lewis and Clark. Teaching for 36 years with Portland Public Schools, Barbara was passionate about both teaching and supporting students on a deeper level. Barbara dedicated her career to not only educating students but also to guiding them through important challenges as a counselor. That kind of commitment has made a lasting impact on the lives of many young people and colleagues as well.
An artist at heart, Barbara found great joy in painting, often capturing the beauty of nature and the world around her. She had a deep appreciation for birdwatching, spending countless hours observing and admiring the wonders of the natural world. Barbara was also blessed with many cherished friendships, bringing warmth, kindness, and creativity to all who knew her.
Her gentle spirit, artistic talent, and love for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Bird Alliance of Oregon, a local wildlife conservation organization or to an art charity in her honor
