He was a chief of police and also served as a fire chief.
Chong passed away on April 11, 2013 in Portland, Oregon.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Young Soon who passed away in January of 2011.
Survivors include his son, Kon S. Pak; daughter, Helen S. Choe; son, Seung S. Pak (wife Kye); son Jung S. Pak (wife Moon); grandsons Bum-Nyung Pak, Joon-Nyung Pak, and Hoon Choe; granddaughters, Sine Choe, Bo-Ryung Pak, Phil-Ryung Pak, Eugene Pak, and Lane Pak; and two great-grandchildren, twins Emily Yu and Lydia Yu, children of Sine Choe.
A private chapel and graveside committal ceremony will take place in Skyline Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home Chapel.
