

Clyde proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1955 to 1958, receiving an honorable discharge. His unwavering dedication and commitment to his military service exemplified his deep love for his country.
Following his honorable service, Clyde embarked on a distinguished career as an Operator at the Wauna Paper Mill, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life. Clyde retired from his career with a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.
Beyond his professional achievements, Clyde found solace and joy in his personal life. He shared a deep bond with his devoted ex-wife, Jannie and son Jerome who provided unwavering support and care during his illness. Their presence brought comfort and strength to Clyde throughout his journey.
Clyde's memory will be forever cherished by his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved son, Jerome Gates, his ex-wife, Jannie Gates, his cherished sister, Dorothy Green, his dear brother, Gary Gates and sister-in-law Patricia Gates.
A Committal Service with military honors will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 1pm.
His memory will be eternally cherished, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
