Cora Lou Conte passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 87 years old. Cora was born January 13, 1929 to William Roy and Veryl Lee DeHaas in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She retired from the Altoona Hospital prior to relocating to Portland to be with her children. Cora served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. All her life, Cora was a true care giver with a heart of gold filled with love, putting everyone's needs before her own. She had a wonderful sense of humor and everyone has a story to tell of her humorous adventures. She was certainly "One in a Million". Cora is survived by her children, Russell (Jan), Edward and Karen, grandchildren Jennifer, Angelo and Alena, brother Philip (Ann) DeHaas of Boalsburg, PA and many nieces and nephews. Her absence leaves a huge hole in our hearts. She is predeceased by her parents, William and Veryl, brothers William and John, and sister Marylee. A service will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 12:00 at Willamette National Cemetery.
