

Born in Evanston, Illinois on Oct. 19, 1920 to John & Corinne (Patton) Somerville; she was the third of four children. Corinne studied child development at Vassar and was planning on getting her Master’s in Public Health at Yale when Nelson Repsold persuaded her to marry him instead. They spent 67 years together until his death in 2010, and had five Children. Corinne was passionate about her faith and devoted much of her life to women’s ministry. She spoke at over 300 Christian Women’s Clubs and was used by God to bring several thousand women to faith. In addition, she was the Advisor to married student wives at Multnomah University for many years. She also enjoyed reading, swimming, travel and spending quality time with her family at their home on Lake Coeur d’Alene, ID. She was a selfless mother and grandmother who taught her children and grandchildren to read, cook, and use proper grammer. She never stopped learning and growing. Corinne died at the age of 93 in Vancouver, WA on Feb. 12, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband, Nelson Repsold; siblings, Suzanne Faulkner and Carol Corey. She is survived by her children Chris Repsold (Gayle), Corinne “Ann” Repsold, Eugenia DeForge (Jim), Holly Repsold & John Repsold (Sandra), brother, John Somerville, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. A celebration service will be held on Friday, Feb. 21 at 2pm at Crossroads Church in Portland.
