

Daniel Marion Daniels, beloved husband, and loving friend, passed away on February 8th, 2015. He was born on March 21st 1953 in Seattle Washington, the youngest of seven children to Joseph and Marjorie Daniels.
Dan grew up in Seattle through elementary and junior high and transferred to the Olympic Peninsula, graduating from Chimacum High School. During his high school years he was best friends with the woman who eventually became the love of his life; Mary. After High School at the age of 20, they tied the knot on September 15th 1973 in Port Townsend Washington. They lived, worked, and cherished one another for over 41 years.
Dan studied at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, the University of Washington, as well as City University in Seattle. His professional life took him to California for an extended amount of time and then was able to move back home to Seattle for 11 years. A wonderful job opportunity brought him to Portland. He recently joined Red Shield Insurance as their Underwriting Manager, a job he truly enjoyed.
It wasn’t his career that defined him. Dan was a natural born artist. Most recently his byzantine icons, and then in using the same egg tempera paint, metal on wood method into a multi series of Crows, Copper River Salmon, Chickens as well as mixed media art and found objects. He was lucky enough to be in several galleries nationally, including The Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria Louisiana where his Murder of Crows was a success.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Mary, his brothers and sisters in law: John and Nikki of Rockport Texas, Steve and Carole of Fairbanks Alaska and Las Vegas Nevada, Phil and Beckie of Onalaska Washington, his sister Maureen Ford of Seattle, and Sisters in law Phyllis Hodges Daniels of Pineville Louisiana, and Carol Roberts Daniels of Silverdale Washington, 22 nieces and nephews, 30 great nieces, nephews, and 4 great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: William Joseph and James Robert, Dan was a true renaissance man, his creative talent, generosity and kindness will be missed.
