

Diane was born January 10, 1937, in Portland, Oregon to Ben and Marie Starkel. Diane was the youngest of seven children. After graduating from Grant High School, Diane attended University of Oregon.
While at the University of Oregon, Diane was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. After returning to Portland, Diane met Donald on a blind date. They wed in 1958 and enjoyed over 64 years together.
Diane began her career working at the phone company and left to raise a family. In later years she worked part time at the local community college. She also volunteered to help children at risk learn to read.
Diane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Diane loved to travel, she and Donald had many adventures in their camper over the years, including a summer trip to Alaska on the Alaskan highway. They also enjoyed their time as snowbirds in Sun City, Arizona.
Diane will always be remembered by friends and family for her kindness and beautiful smile. All her life, Diane had an enduring faith and love of the Lord.
Diane is survived by her husband, Donald; sons, David (Kim) and Larry (Lisa); grandchildren, Michelle Piper (Ken), Kelsey, Daniel and Carson; great-grandson, Mason.
