Dolores Stone was born June 4, 1933 in Portland, Oregon to Augustine and Marjorie (Hutchinson) Perciso. Dolores has passed away on November 15, 2021 in Wilsonville, Oregon with family at her side, age 88.
Dolores grew up in Portland’s Italian District. She attended Hosford Grade School and Cleveland High School, graduating in 1952, and served as president of her sorority. She worked at University Drugstore on Lombard Street in North Portland, at Marie’s Kiddie Corner before her career selling women’s fashions at Rhodes Department Store in Portland, Liberty House Department Store in Jantzen Beach, and Frederick & Nelson Department Store in Portland. She belonged to the Wilsonville Garden Club and the Cleveland High School “Old Broads” Lunch Club. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching (especially hummingbirds), making Christmas wreaths with her garden club, wine tasting, and listening to Big Band and Bossa Nova music. Over the years she worshipped at Portland Four Square Church, New Hope Church in Portland, and SouthLake Four Square Church in West Linn.
She and Albert Stone were united in marriage on October 13, 1982. They enjoyed traveling together and had been all over the US in their fifth wheel, as well as China, Puerto Rico, Puerto Vallarta, and Hawaii, and they loved feeding and watching the birds together.
Dolores will be remembered by her husband of 39 years, Albert Stone, and by daughters Susan Bradley, Sandra Beck, and Tracy Hager.
A Celebration of Dolores’ life will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 1 pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd. in Portland, with a reception to follow. She will be privately interred at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
