

Dorothea was born in Laurel, Oregon a descendant of Oregon pioneers. Her childhood was spent in Portland with her large, close-knit family. She is predeceased by parents, John and Elma, sisters, Juanita, Mildred, Vivian, Helen and Betty Ann; brother; Wesley. Dorothea was the last Surviving sibling.
In 1931 she married Edgar Newcomb. They divorced in 1942.
She worked as an elevator operator at Meier & Frank until enlisting in the women's Army Corps, during WWII. Dorothea married John Still in 1950. They enjoyed a loving marriage until his death in 1991.
Dorothea was a woman of great beauty and style- always well-dressed and her home well-decorated. More than that, she was remembered for her courage in times of trouble. Funny and witty to her last day, she was often referred to as a character. Her interest include reading, music-especially opera-and presidential history. Above all, she enjoyed her family and friends of whom there were plenty.
Dorothea was dearly loved and will be dearly missed by many. Dorothea is survived by her children, Wesley, Cathie, Jeff, Kim (Carl), twins, Brett and Shauna, grandchildren, Joel, Jackson, Alexandra, Darr, Doug, Mellisa, Ryan and Amber and three great- Grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews and friends; and a special mention of her dear friend Lola Mintun, from their elevator days.No services will be held. Internment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Dorothea's name to the Portland Opera, the Veteran's Hospital or Housecall Providers.
