Dorothy Brown peacefully left to be with her Lord and to reunite with her beloved husband, Edward, on June 30. A native Oregonian, she was affectionately called “Dot.” She was a gentle soul—a trusted friend to many, a loving mother and grandmother, and a steadfastly devoted wife. Only “good words” describe her—loving, kind, selfless, accepting, giving, patient, and humble.
Dorothy had a rich, full life. She and Ed were members of the Columbia River Yacht Club and the Good Sam Travel Club. They had a winter home in Sun City Palm Desert, enjoying six months of the year there. When in Oregon, they divided time among their Milwaukie home, their Netarts beach condo, and their Deschutes River house.
Dorothy and Ed were members of Tri-City Baptist Church, attending regularly until their health declined. She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Bruce and Jean Murray of Bend; her sons-in-law, A.O. Bruce and Dan Murray; her grandchildren, Tamara Bruce of La Pine, Daniel Bruce of Sandy, his wife, Kim, and great-grandson, Owen Bruce.
“Dot” spent her final years in Skyline Adult Care Home in West Linn, in the loving care of Chris and Adriana. We gratefully thank all her caregivers,—including Rose and Mele from earlier years—for their love and support.
