Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and Blazer fan, Elaine passed away on February 5th in Beaverton, Oregon. She was born in Billings, Montana to Evans and Karine Engebretson and she was the eldest of five children. The family settled in Hillsboro in 1936 and she graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1947. Previously married and divorced from Robert LeClerc, she was married to Robert Geary Myers from 1956 until his death in 1986. Throughout her life Elaine worked at Meier and Frank, held a top secret clearance at Aerojet, and was a bookkeeper at Don Rasmussen Studebaker and later Mercedes Benz. Elaine loved her family, kids and grandchildren and enjoyed supporting all of their activities. Her passion in life always remained her beloved Portland Trailblazers. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Salta, and her stepdaughter, Melinda Norlie. She is survived by sisters Virginia Burke and Doris Beier; brother Earl Engebretson; step daughter Priscilla Engle; sons Steve, Craig, and Michael Myers; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Remembrance of Elaine will be held at the Tualatin United Methodist Church, 20200 SW Martinazzi St., on Saturday, April 27 at 10:00am. Elaine would be most pleased to know that those attending wore their Blazer gear to the service. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, an organization she cared for greatly.
