Elizabeth Joan Wells

Elizabeth “Betty” Joan Wells passed away on May 26, 2015 at her home in Happy Valley, Oregon. She was born in Halfway, OR to parents Albert Crow and Beulah Buchanan on December 29, 1939, one of 12 children. She was raised in Halfway and lived in Eastern Oregon, until she met Delmar Wells while he was working on the Hell’s Canyon Dam. They were married in 1968, and the family moved to Portland, OR. Betty and Delmar shared many wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2006.

Betty was a generous and caring woman, who would do anything for anyone who may need help.. She had a kind smile and was a good friend to many. Nothing was more important to Betty than her family, especially her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom she was a devoted grandmother.

Betty is survived by her children James “Joe” Wells, Jeannie Preble, and Colleen Zinn; step-children Janet Hanson, Chuck Wells, and Linda Metzger; her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Marion Crow, Dick Crow, Dave Crow, John Crow, and Gerald Crow; sisters Louise Tyler, Elaine Woolf, and Lorraine Gunner. She was preceded in death by her sisters Marlene Van Court, Malbe Harrington, and Rose Lindstrom and her step-daughter Connie Hansen. A funeral service will be held at the Happy Valley Evangelical Church on Saturday June 6, 2015 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest privately with her husband at Willamette National Cemetery.
