

Emma graduted from Commerce High School at the age of 16 and immediately went to work to support her family during the Great Depression. She met her future husband, Murl Richard Jones during WWII while he was stationed with the Navy in Seattle, Wa. After a short engagement they married in October, 1942. In November 1943 their first daughter Judith Ann was born. After the WWII, they moved to Portland, Oregon. In March of 1950 their second daughter Terese Annette was born. Murl "Dick" enlisted in the Marines during the Korean War and was assigned to Camp Pendleton and the family moved to Laguna Beach, Ca. After Dick's tour of duty, the family returned to their home in Portland.
Emma was a lifelong learner and avid reader. She volunteered as an adult tutor in reading and math. Emma was an area secretary for TransAmerica Financial until her retirement in 1984.
Emma is survived by her daughters Judi Feller (Doug) and Terri MacLean. Grandchildren Mark Feller (Kim), Gretchen Miller, Shannon MacLean and Amy Mehas (Matt). Great Grandchildren Tyler, Evan, Connor, Kiley, Carson, Tate and Noah and a baby girl due in August; beloved and cherished nieces Julianne Gray and Deni Davis, nephew Ron Sheck and her "adopted daughter" Priscilla Reed.
Her family will remember special times together for Sunday dinners, sleep-overs watching the stars, nature walks collecting pinecones, staying up late watching Sinister Cinema and sitting on the kitchen counter helping Nana cook. Emma and her grandchildren enjoyed camping on the Metolius river in Central Oregon, fishing and cooking breakfast on the Coleman stove. Emma's visits to Guatemala, Yugoslavia, England, Mexico, Florida, Chicago, New Mexico and Ohio to visit family and friends were very special to her.
Emma was lovingly referred to as "Nana" and she will be remembered for her big heart and wonderful sense of humor. Emma's philosophy was always FAMILY FIRST.
