

Frank Herbert Temple was born in Hood River, Oregon to parents Merland C. and Francell I. (Carter) Temple on June 21, 1936. He was older brother to sister Kathryn. His family moved to Portland, OR when he was very young. Frank grew up in Portland and he graduated from Benson High School.
During the Korean War, Frank was enlisted in the Army Reserves.
Frank married Valerie Jean Rivet on November 21, 1964 at Vernon Presbyterian Church. The two met at a dental office in Portland. They were blessed with two lovely children: daughter Kari was born in 1965 and daughter Laura was born in 1968. The young family called Clackamas, OR home and the girls grew up there. They enjoyed many adventures together backpacking and fishing along the Clackamas River and camping at Rainbow Campground.
Frank’s lifelong career was in the field of construction and carpentry and he was a skilled and adept carpenter. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed history. Frank enjoyed the outdoors and nature - camping, fishing, hiking, and backpacking. He collected and enjoyed shooting guns and he was a lifelong supporter of the National Rifle Association.
Frank will be remembered as a social and outgoing person and someone who was loved by his neighbors. He was kind, caring, patient, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Frank is predeceased by his loving wife Valerie who passed away in 2015 and his parents Merland and Francell.
He is survived by daughters Kari Gann and Laura Temple; and his sister Kathryn Dodson.
Frank will be privately laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens of Portland, Oregon in the garden of the Good Shepherd.
