On July 3, 1968, Gary exchanged wedding vows with Shirley Bighouse in the Moreland Presbyterian Church of Portland, Or.
Gary was a co-founder of Colt Construction Company, where he worked as the operating engineer and supervisor. He was a hard worker, incredibly organized, and demonstrated honesty and integrity in every aspect of his life.
In 2000, Gary moved his family to Sun River, Or., where he was able to focus on enjoying his many outdoor hobbies. He was an avid hiker and bicyclist, often "leading the pack" in all outdoor activities.
Gary passed away February 15, 2013 in Bend, Or. with loving family by his side. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, February 23, 2013 in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; brother, Jim Colt and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered fondly for his great sense of humor, fun-loving nature, competitive edge, and for being a great husband, brother and uncle.
