Gary Leith Kuykendall was born in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Donald and Patricia Kuykendall. During his childhood, Gary’s parents moved to the Parkrose Area of Portland, where Gary went on to graduate from Parkrose High School. Gary later served in the Army. During his working life, Gary was a steel worker for a number of years.
In his spare time, Gary loved to work on cars, particularly sports cars. He would do body work and paint cars and could often be found watching drag races in Woodburn. His passion also extended to the water, where he enjoyed water skiing. Other interests included the Pittsburgh Steelers and adventure novels; a favorite being Patricia Cornwell books.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Donald Kuykendall. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Kuykendall; children: Stephanie Kuykendall, Joe Kuykendall, Jason Kuykendall and Jadia Bergeron; brothers: Ron (Shawn) and Dave (Connie) Kuykendall and sister Peggy (Paul) Wallace.
