Obituary
On August 16, 1923, Glenn Lamont Hansen was born in Weiser, Idaho to Andrew and Elnora Hansen. Glenn's parents moved to Portland when he was very young. Glenn graduated from Grant High School in 1940 and a year later he joined the United States Marine Corp. Glenn was a WWII Veteran who served in the South Pacific as part of the 6th Marine Division.
After serving in the Marines Glenn attended the University of Portland and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Shortly after graduation he went to work for Bonneville Power Administration and worked in structural design until his retirement in 1979.
Glenn had many good friends and was always helping neighbors, friends and relatives with needed home repairs. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing projects around his home. Glenn was always busy working in the yard or with carpentry projects. When time permitted he went fishing or hunting with his good friends on the Deschutes River.
Glenn met his wife Betty through a mutual friend, Glenn’s nephew Bruce, and they were married in 1977. Glenn and Betty loved and cared for one another for 37 years. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Keith, Ralph, Milt and Bob, sisters, Melba, Nonie and Thelma.
He is survived by wife Betty Hansen of Portland, Oregon, sons, Kirk and wife (Diane) of Portland, Oregon, Mark and wife (Chris) of Portland, Oregon and Kevin and wife (Mary) of Seattle, Washington grandchildren Kacia and husband (Matt) Bundle, Brooke and husband (Glenn) Kaylor, Elliot Hansen, Ryan Hansen, Jeff Hansen, Joe Cole, DaeJin Cole, great grandchildren, Stella Bundle, Henley Bundle and Monte Kaylor.
Glenn's family will celebrate his Life at his home on November 8th where a Marine Corps Honor Guard will provide a ceremony for his service during World War II.
