

Gregory Scott Curtiss, known affectionately as Hazard Best of the Northwest, passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 44 in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Born on July 16, 1979, to George William Curtiss Jr. and Sharon Elaine Flores, Hazard was a beloved son, friend, and cherished member of his community.
Hazard's life was characterized by his compassionate spirit and infectious zest for living. Despite his high school education, he possessed a wealth of wisdom and kindness that endeared him to all who knew him. He had an uncanny ability to find humor in any situation and his jovial presence could light up a room.
Among Hazard's many passions were his love for watching wrestling, lending a helping hand to those in need, and the simple joys of visiting friends and making memorable trips. He found delight in the little things, whether it was a visit to Costco, collecting stuffed animals, or sharing a hearty laugh over his favorite jokes.
Hazard's heart of gold extended to his love for his family, especially his parents whom he adored. He cherished moments spent with them, often enjoying drives in his father's truck or simply relishing the company of his loved ones. Hazard had an affinity for the color royal blue and found solace in the music of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Billy Ray Cyrus.
A lover of good food, Hazard had a particular fondness for Popeye's chicken and could often be found enjoying a meal with friends or family. His genuine smile and warm demeanor touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.
Hazard Best of the Northwest will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to live on in the memories and hearts of those he touched.
Hazard is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Flores. He's survived by his father, George William Curtiss Jr; brother, George Wesley Curtiss; and step mother, Josie Curtiss.
