Jacquelynn “Jackie” (Diamond) Mooers, born on November 24, 1947, in Portland, Oregon, to Orville and Phillis Diamond, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on April 7, 2025. A graduate of Portland’s John Marshall High School and Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington, where she earned an associate’s degree magna cum laude in Business Administration, Jackie was a woman of deep curiosity and rich, loving connections.
Jackie was happiest when surrounded by her family and her best friend of over 50 years, Jane Dunafon. Whether it was watching television, enjoying a movie, or simply chatting, she found contentment in these quiet moments.
While Jackie loved the comfort of home, her adventurous friend Jane encouraged many exciting trips together, from the Oregon Coast to Disneyland, Las Vegas, and Victoria, British Columbia. These travels became cherished memories, and Jackie often fondly recounted their adventures. She also enjoyed many memorable trips with her sister, Jeanine, and grandchild, Erika, creating precious bonds along the way.
Jackie’s love of family extended to her cooking and baking, where she excelled in making holidays extra special for everyone. Whether it was a family dinner or festive treats, Jackie’s talent for creating moments of joy around the table will always be remembered.
A lifelong learner, Jackie had a broad range of interests—from ancient history to science fiction. She was an avid reader and movie lover, with a taste for both the classics and the obscure.
Jackie is survived by her daughter, Alison Mooers; son, Bill Mooers, and his wife, Ynona Mooers; and three grandchildren, Erika Clark Mooers and their partner, Kelsey Herndon, Malorie Mooers, and Marisa Segura Mooers. She is also survived by her brother, Philip Diamond, and sisters, Jeanine Diamond and Patti Diamond, and her partner, Jason Coblentz.
Jackie was preceded in death by her dear friend Jane, and we like to imagine them together again, causing a little mischief in heaven that probably involves chocolate. She will be deeply missed, but her love and the memories she leaves behind will continue to brighten the lives of all who knew her.
A graveside service for Jacquelynn will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97229.
