James E. Hinkle was born to parents Robert and Opal (Eslinger) Hinkle on April 25th, 1930, in Portland, Oregon. He was raised in Portland, Oregon.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1952 and served for five years during the Korean War, much of that time as a guard.
He exchanged wedding vows with Norma G. Framke on January 19, 1963, in Stevenson, Washington.
James worked as a Garbage Collector for Sunset Garbage Co. and retired in 1996 after 31 years of service.
He was a proud member of Life Fellowship Church.
James enjoyed square dancing with Norma and going together on trips to the casino. He enjoyed being social and playing bingo and card games with friends and neighbors. He also liked to collect rare coins and currency. His favorite thing to do was to just spend quality time with his family and be involved in family gatherings.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Norma; a son, Jimmy Hinkle; a foster daughter, Debbie Ramios; grandchildren Kristie and Michael; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents; a brother, Robert Hinkle; a sister, Gracie Alcorn; and a half-sisters Madeline and Marthetta.
James, we love you and will miss you.
A Funeral Service followed by a Reception will take place in Skyline Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 16th, at 1:00 PM. Public viewing will be from Noon until service time in Skyline Chapel. James will be laid to eternal rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens Garden of the Sermon on the Mount.
