
John Edward Paullin “Eddy”, 88, died from congestive heart failure on October 19, 2012 in his home surrounded by family in Oregon City, Oregon. John was born on January 28, 1924 in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Oregon City High School in 1944. During and after school, he worked at the Northern Bomb Site and Iron fireman during WWII. John was a ‘jack-of-all-trades’ spending his time building his home, working in his shop, while doing odd jobs for friends and family. He enjoyed his daily visits “to town”, stopping along the way to visit with those having the time to listen. In his life he was everything from cub master to contract negotiator. John was a lead millwright for Crown Zellerbach for 44 years, retiring in 1986. He was a founding member and strong leader of AWPPW Union and member of the safety committee for most of his career. John maintained memberships in the Knights of Pythians, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Abernethy Grange #346. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delores Paullin and their 9 children Lisa Paullin-Anzaldua, Jody Holland, Thomas Paullin, Mark Paullin, Heidi Safe, Amy Paullin, Keri Fields, Norman Cooley, and Shawn Paullin. He is also survived by 21 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren, a brother Beryl Paullin, and a sister Gloria Trompeter. Funeral will be held at Lincoln Memorial on Monday, October 29 @ 11:30.
