Born on July 20, 1957, in Colorado, John spent most of his childhood in the warm embrace of Arizona's landscapes before eventually making Portland, Oregon his home.
In Portland, John met Kim, and it was clear their connection was deep. Having many adventures of joy, love, special moments, and trials they overcame throughout the years. Together, they had their first and only child, Kelsey who they loved very much.
John had a varied and fulfilling career. He dedicated many years to Mobile Oil as a truck driver, navigating the open roads with skill and dedication. Later, he found his true calling as a professional landscaper and handyman. John's love for working with his hands was evident in every project he undertook, transforming spaces and creating beauty with his expertise. He was skilled in his craft and could build anything from the ground up, even the more intricate aspects of a house or a building, an intelligence to be admired.
John's passion for the outdoors was a defining aspect of his life. He found immense joy in hiking and camping, always seeking the serenity of nature. John was also an avid cyclist, often riding his bike to and from work. He was known for his love of barbecuing, often bringing friends and family together with his culinary skills, especially his famous green bean casserole.
His talkative and friendly nature endeared him to many, making him a well-liked figure in his community and someone people felt they could trust. Everyone loved to talk to John, even total strangers. That was just the kind of man he was.
John's legacy is carried on by his beloved daughter, Kelsey, who will forever cherish the memories of her father's love, guidance, and the many adventures they shared.
