Joseph Johnny Fonoti, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Born in Redwood City, California, to Lafaele and Mere Fonoti, Joseph was raised in San Jose by his Aunty Mary and Uncle Feleti. He later moved to Oregon.
A percussionist and football player during his high school years, Joseph's talents were only surpassed by his incredible sense of humor. He had a rare gift for bringing light into any situation and lifting the spirits of everyone around him. He brought this rare and special skill, along with compassion and dedication, to his work at Open Door Housing Works in Beaverton.
A devout man of God, Joseph was a member of Calvary Chapel Worship Center in Hillsboro. His faith was central to his life and guided him in all he did, from the way he loved his family to the way he extended friendship to all.
He is survived by his loving parents, Lafaele and Mere Fonoti, and his cherished siblings: Lydia, Amosa, Matagofie, Coreen, Eddie, and Eric Fonoti. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, church community, colleagues, and countless friends who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service celebrating Joseph’s life will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 12:00 PM, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM, at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
