Khem “Kem” Ouk was born in Cambodia November 5, 1920 to his parents Houm Ouk and Bou Yourk. He spent most of his life there until 1995, when he came to the U.S at the petition of his daughter and son-in-law Vanna and Kimny Kong. During his time in Cambodia, he married Reoun Dee with whom he spent 50 years. They had twelve children most of which survived the Communist occupation. Reoun and three of the children preceded him in death, and five children still live in Cambodia. Along with his nine remaining children, he leaves sixty-one grand and great-grandchildren. He has about one hundred people in his own family. He will be missed by many.
