

Lenore Frances Nelson, 91, of Centralia, WA. went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Aug. 23, 2020. She was born in Portland, Or. to Ulva and Laura Collins on July 18, 1929. Lenore graduated from Grant High School also in Portland where she was married to Earl L. Nelson on Oct. 9, 1948. They had two children, Linda and Kathy.
The family attended Gateway Baptist Church where she also served at secretary to Sheldon Hawes for many years. Lenore was an avid tap dancer and instructor in studio's that she opened and in various community classes that she taught, including Mt. Hood C.C., David Douglas Community School, Metro
Dance Center and Parkrose Community School. Sharing her gift of tap dancing with all ages was very special to her. And she could still perform the stomp time well into her 80's.
Lenore was pre-ceded in death by her husband Earl, her brother Carlton Collins and her sister Lorna Lane, her daughter Linda Hetland, son-in-law Greg Hetland and grandson Jason Hetland. She was survived by her daughter Kathleen Schwartz, son-in-law Tim, Ed Wallan (just like a son); grandsons Dan Schwartz, Toby Schwartz, Luke Schwartz, Tim Schwartz, Steve Schwartz, and Jeremy Hetland; 19 great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lenore will be well remembered for her love of dancing, playing the piano and big splashes in card games like hand & foot! She loved her family, but most of all she loved Jesus.
The entire family takes great comfort knowing she is now, along with the love of her life Earl, safely home with Jesus.
