three siblings, with a sister named Caroline and a brother named Butch. She grew up in
Portland, attended Monroe High School, and had an aunt in Tillamook where she visited a lot growing
up.
She had a friend named Shannon she grew up and became close friends with, and also grew close with a girl named Debbie. As she got older she started attending a church camp with her grandma and mother where she met Ron, a longtime friend-to-be.
Leonee was a long time Grange member, starting in youth and moving all the way to Pomona. At age
14, while attending a social at the grange, she met her future husband Harold Akers. On November 10, 1973, Harold and Leonee were married in front of friends and family and their union lasted almost
48 years. Leonee was a military wife, as her husband spent 33 years in the Air Force Reserve.
They spent what you might call a honeymoon in Japan for 3 years.
On January 15, 1986, Leonee and Harold were blessed with a child named William, named after
her dad. She had to fight to keep him, as he was born prematurely and with many struggles to
come.
For 65 years she lived, caring for her family, being there for her friends, and being the best she
could be.
Leonee leaves behind her loving Husband Harold and her son William, and - don't forget - her dog
Mo.
