Lois was introduced to the game of golf in her late 40's and spent many years playing golf at Oswego Lake Country Club and Charbonneau Golf Club. She was also involved with Oregon Women's Golf Association during this time.
A big part of Lois' life was singing. She sang professionally for 20 years with her daughter, Leslie Rohde and friend Anne DuFresne, in a trio called String of Pearls. "The Pearls" had a weekly job on the steamboat Queen of the West for many years, and also performed with the Oregon Symphony numerous times as well as state and local fairs and private parties. Lois also sang in church choirs at Rose City Park Methodist Church, Valley Community Presbyterian Church and most recently at Lake Grove Presbyterian Church.
