

Edith "Lorraine" Johnson, 88, passed away on December 26, 2013 in Gresham, Oregon. Born April 5, 1925 in Warren, Oregon, she was the daughter of the late Waldemar and Edith Ingrid Johnson. She graduated from Scapoose High School. Lorraine met and married the love of her life, Leonard Johnson, and they were together until Leonard's passing in 1995.
Lorraine loved reading, especially the newspapers and mystery novels. She was an avid knitter and embroiderer. She loved to travel, and was most fond of her trips to Hawaii. She even took a helicoptor tour of every island!
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Johnson and his wife Patricia; daughter Eileen Jilek and her husband Tony; grandsons, Andrew Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Thomas Jilek, and Shawn Edwards and his wife Angela; granddaughter-in-law Lisa Jilek; great grandsons Tyler and Zachary Jilek; her brother John Johnson and wife Carol; her sister Vivian Ray; and her beloved cat, Punkin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 14500 SE Powell Blvd, Portland. A Graveside Commital Service will follow at 2:00pm at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Warren, Oregon. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 8, from 10:00am until 5:00pm. Memorial donations in Lorraine's name may be made to the Oregon Humane Society.
