E. Louise (Gann) Krause, 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Ocean Beach Hospital in Ilwaco, Washington. She was born on November 26, 1933, in Vinita, Oklahoma to Raymond and Lula (Weaver) Gann. She married Phillip Leeper at 17 years old and had 3 children (Rick, Arleta and Vickie).
Throughout her life, Louise was known as a very giving person, had a strong work ethic and was a determined entrepreneur. Her family meant everything to her and she enjoyed watching her great-grandchildren show their animals at the County Fair. Her careers were many, including a seamstress in her younger years and eventually owning her own custom Upholstery and Drapery Shop. In the early 80’s she passed her GED and graduated from Real Estate School. She worked for Stan Wiley Real Estate Co. and was the Salesperson of the Month nine months in a row. There are some that still live in the house’s that she sold them. She acquired several rental properties in Vancouver, Washington. During that same time, she owned a large Machine Shop in Portland, Oregon. She purchased a Carpet Cleaning business and she expanded the company to include apartment painting and cleaning.
In the late 90’s she married Kenneth Krause and shortly after, moved to Ocean Park, Washington to retire. She loved dancing at the Eagle’s, beachcombing and clam digging with her Grandchildren. She loved gardening, a trait she inherited from her Dad. In 2004, she purchased a building in Long Beach, Washington and opened a 7500 sq ft Thrift Store (The Blue Dolphin Center) where she was known by most as “Grandma”.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Phillip Leeper and Kenneth Krause; siblings, Pearl Crisman, Pauline Miller, Raymond Gann, Jr. and Shirley Johnson; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Victoria (Her Granddaughter Tiffany Craven’s twins).
Louise is survived by one sibling, Rosie Elsey; children, Rick Leeper of Wamic, Oregon, Arleta Ratliff of Hillsboro, Oregon, Vickie Beamguard of Ocean Park, Washington and daughter-in-law, Faith Leeper of Wamic, Oregon; 8 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 4 great-great-grandchildren with two on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon on May 29, 2019 at 2:00 pm with interment following at 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in Ocean Park, Washington, at a later date.
