Luanne graduated from Bayshore High School in Long Island, New York. After graduating from High School she attended Lake Erie College of Medicine and Brooklyn Nursing School, graduating in 1959. Luanne spent most of her career as an operating room nurse in various hospitals around Glendale and Santa Ana, California. After over 40 years as a registered nurse, she decided to retire to be near a friend in Hood River, Oregon. In her later years she moved to Portland to be closer to family. Luanne was adventurous and an avid traveler, she enjoyed trips to Ireland, Australia, many trips to Hawaii and even went white water rafting on the Colorado River. She was a voracious reader, especially with her passion for history; she could discuss in nearly professorial terms the Civil War, Native American culture, American history, and the space program.
Luanne is survived by her two sons, Alan Huston and Brian Huston; daughter-in-laws, Evelyn West and Judy Biesanz; grand-children, Kendall Huston and Sydney Huston; sister-in-law, Maria Trenor; nephews, Scott Trenor and David Trenor.
Luanne was preceded in death by her brother Donald Trenor.
"When I am dead
cry for me a little,
think of me sometimes,
but not too much....
it is not good for you
to allow thoughts
to dwell too long
on the dead....
think of me now and then
as I was in life,
at some moment of pleasure
to recall...but not for long...
leave me in peace
and I shall leave you too in peace;
while you live
let your thoughts be with the living..."
