

Dr. Margaret Wynne Fox, Ph.D, age 74, of Happy Valley, Oregon, passed away on July 2, 2023. She was born on September 19, 1948, in Montgomery, Alabama. Margaret was a beloved mother, grandmother, and active member of her community.
Margaret is survived by her children, Nicholas Gallo (Erica) and Amanda Gallo (Travis), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Walter and Grayson Gallo. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, finding joy in spending time with her family.
Margaret's educational journey was one of great achievement. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Southern University in 1971 and went on to earn her Master’s in Education in 1983 and her Ph.D. in 1991 from Oregon State University. Her dedication to learning, knowledge, and the power of education was evident throughout her life and passed along to her children.
In her career, Margaret served as an Assistant Professor with the Educational Opportunities Program at Oregon State University from 1982 until her retirement in 2007, making a lasting impact on the lives of her students.
Outside of her professional life, Margaret had a passion for gardening and genealogy. She found connection and fulfillment in nurturing plants, exploring her family's history and helping others do the same.
A private interment ceremony will be held at Crystal Lake Cemetery in Corvallis to honor Margaret's life. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
