Peggy was born on December 9, 1951 in Oroville, California to James Bruce Eddy and Virginia Eddy. She grew up in Coos Bay, Oregon under the tutelage of her three older brothers: Bob, Jim, and John.
She attended Marshfield High School where she garnered a reputation as a standout tennis player and swimmer. She started college at Gonzaga University, but graduated from the University of Oregon. Directly after college, she began her teaching career in Perth, Australia. Upon returning to the U.S., she taught math in the Hillsboro School District and later at Jesuit High School, always with penguin decorations adorning her classroom. Peggy continued to tutor students in her retirement and enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
While teaching at Glencoe High School, she met the love of her life, John, who taught social studies. They married in 1983 and raised their children Kyle and Marla in Beaverton. Peggy and John enjoyed international travel as a couple and with their children.
Peggy had an eye for beauty and used her artistic talents to create beautiful glass art and colorful personalized greeting cards. She also enjoyed tending to the plants and flowers in her garden and organizing family photos into scrapbooks. Her priorities were family, friends and serving others. As a mother, she was always loving, patient, and supportive. She loved to read and encouraged her children to do the same. Her friends admired her caring nature, her bubbly personality and her quick wit over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
Peggy is survived by her husband, John; son, Kyle (Megan); daughter, Marla (Oleg); granddaughters, Charlotte and Fiona; brothers, Jim, Bob, and John. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
A private graveside ceremony will be held in the coming weeks for her extended family.
