

Marlene(Wood) McAuley died September 6th, 2015 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 77. She was born November 5th, 1937 in Stuart, Nebraska to Albert Leslie Wood and Florence Rose (Kozisek) Wood. She was the oldest of three children, having two brothers, Delbert and David. As a young girl, she moved to Minneapolis, Kansas and then on to Portland, Oregon, where her father found work at the Kaiser Shipyards during World War II. She had a positive and cheerful countenance and was an avid reader, enjoyed walking, sewing, cross-stitch, and oil painting.
Marlene attended Woodmere Grade School and Franklin High School in Portland. She had four children from a previous marriage: Carla Leslie, Lynn Marie, Rachelle Annette, and Gary Eugene. She married John McAuley on September 16th, 1981. She worked for the City of Portland Finance Office as well as the Portland Planning Bureau for 32 years. Upon retirement, she and John enjoyed traveling the world, ballroom dancing, and spending time with their extensive family.
Survivors include her husband John, daughters Carla Bird(Larry), Lynn Kahl(David), Rachelle Hazelton(Randy), and son Gary Moody(Patty), her brothers Delbert Wood(Kathy) and David Wood(Dana), as well as seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepchildren; John Jr., David, Steve, Deborah, Joe, Pat and their children and grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Monday, September 14th, 2015 at 10:00am with a viewing at 9:00am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home located at 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd., Portland, Oregon. Interment at Willamette National Cemetery.
