Maxine, Since that day, over 35 years ago, when you walked across the street and played with a not yet 2 year old, to keep him busy so we could unload, you have been more than just a neighbor. You were the Grandma missing from our children's lives. From baking cookies, pre-school activities, tea parties, Grandparents Day at school or sitting with a sick sleeping infant while I ran the afterschool pick up, you were there for all of us. You were there for births, birthdays, graduations, marriages and the births of the next generation. You even had bones and treats for all the dogs we've managed to adopt. Your advice and support were invaluable and always spot on. It didn't matter if you were busy or had other plans, if one of the kids asked you, you were there. If one of the kids lost their keys, accidently locked themselves out or were just scared you opened your door to and gave them a safe haven. We hope you know how much you were loved and appreciated. The last years have been hard for you. You may not have known who you were talking to but, you made sure they knew they were important to you. You were an amazing lady who had a lasting impact on our family. Rest assured we will keep an eye on your George and do whatever he will let us do to help him. Rest in peace "Grandma Maxine" we will carry you in our hearts forever.
