Michael’s early years were marked by challenges, and as a young boy, he struggled to find his way. By the age of 12, he became involved in gang life, a path that led to many difficult seasons. Though his journey included years of incarceration, Michael’s life was not defined by those hardships, but by his strength to rise beyond them.
While incarcerated, Michael made the life-changing decision to invest in himself, earning his high school diploma—an accomplishment that spoke to his determination and quiet perseverance. Even through setbacks, he carried within him a desire for something better, and over time, that desire began to shape a new direction for his life.
In 2019, Michael was released from prison for the final time and stepped into a new chapter with renewed purpose. Through a halfway house program, he secured employment as a flagger, taking pride in his work and the independence it brought him. After a year, he made a selfless and loving choice to step away from his job to care for his grandmother, who was battling dementia. During this time, he also devoted himself to supporting his mother, showing a deep sense of responsibility, compassion, and love.
Following the passing of his beloved grandmother in 2022, Michael continued to rebuild his life with strength and humility. He became a Building Monitor with Reach Community Development, where he worked faithfully and found purpose in being present and dependable. He remained in this role until his passing.
Michael was known for his compassionate spirit, warm heart, and infectious laugh. He was a loving and caring person who would help anyone in need, often giving whatever he could to others. He had a special place in his heart for those who were struggling, especially individuals experiencing homelessness or those who were incarcerated, always offering kindness, understanding, and support without judgment.
Michael will be remembered for his resilience, his growth, and the love he showed to those closest to him. His life is a testament to the power of change, redemption, and the importance of family. Though his journey was not easy, it was filled with moments of courage, care, and transformation that will not be forgotten.
He was welcomed into eternal rest by his great-grandmother, Annie V. Smith; his grandmothers, Lorraine Williams; his father, Londell Davis; his daughter, Ta’Tyanna Washington-Davis; his son, La’Ron Washington; his great-uncles, Willie Smith and Robert Smith; and his niece, Laniya Coleman.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Ruthie Williams; his sister, LaToya Williams; and his children, Deshane Davis, Marcus K. White, Trevon Davis, Iesha Washington, Tianna Washington, Deshawn Washington, Dayshawn Hudson, Eva Augustus, Michael Davis Jr., and Za’Ryia Clemons, along with family and friends who will cherish his memory and carry his spirit with them always.
Michael’s life reminds us that even through life’s greatest challenges, there is always room for growth, healing, and love.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
"Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday… Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear."
