

Michael Jerry Maloney, 67, of Portland passed away September 21, 2014. He was born in Portland, Oregon on October 21, 1947 to Jerry and Helen Maloney. Michael graduated from Central Catholic High School; and was drafted into the military shortly after high school. He served in the Army as a typist in the medical field. Michael had a career in the insurance industry; and was a member of both the Lions and the Elks Club. During his lifetime he was an avid reader; topics of interest were mystery and espionage, and one of his favorite authors was Stephen King. He also enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, bowling, collecting gadgets and he took pride in his cars. Michael will always be remembered for his art of storytelling, which was always animated; creative cooking, and the abundant love he shared with his family. Michael is survived by his children, Matt (Jessie) and Michelle (Jeff); grandchildren, Addison, Liam and two twin granddaughters; sister, Kim; and many other family members. He will be deeply missed. A committal service with military honors will take place at Willamette National Cemetery on October 10, 2014 at 12pm.
