I only recently learned from a mutual friend that "The Mav" had passed away.  Michael was a friend of mine and the work that he was doing in Portland brought me--as a photographer-- to Portland.  His generosity and friendship was a defining factor in me choosing to maintain studios here.  I will never forget his sense of grace and the ease of working with him.
