Myla Marie Allen was born on September 21, 1950, in Fayetteville, North Carolina to parents Ellis M. and Ann Allen. The family moved west, living in Yakima, Washington, and finally settled in Portland, Oregon. Myla lived in the family home until June 1961, and then was moved to Fairview Training Center during the week where she attended classes, and came home on weekends. Myla eventually moved into group home settings, and came to settle in Cornelius, Oregon in 2003, with Bethesda Lutheran Communities and her wonderful family at the Ginger Street house which she loved very much. Myla worked at a resale clothing store in Hillsboro, Oregon for many years, where she would help fold clothes and would string beaded necklaces. She loved to string beads for hours on end, as well as color in her countless coloring books. Myla was known and loved by so many people that were her friends, co-workers, and caregivers. Her smile, laughter, love and kind heart will be missed by many.
Myla’s parents preceded her in death, Ellis in 1989, and Ann in 1995. She is survived by her twin sisters, Wyndi Perry and Cyndi Garrison.
