

She was born in Portland on Friday, March 13, 1936.
Nancy graduated from Franklin High School with a scholarship to Portland State University in Journalism.
On Friday, June 4, 1954, Nancy married Godfrey Arthur Hyman.
Nancy worked on the Carter Campaign, and was the Campaign Finance Coordinator, as well as, the Vice President of Playfair Pools and Construction Company, and The Greater Portland Woman's Bowling Association Board.
Nancy and her husband, Godfrey, were invited to, and attended, the Democratic Convention as well as the Inaugural Ball for Jimmy Carter.
Nancy had five children, and was very active in their schooling with PTA and as Room Mother.
She had a passion for politics, reading, gardening, homemaking and decorating, cooking, baking, entertaining for holidays, birthday parties, swimming pool parties, bowling, coaching junior league bowling at Gateway Lanes and AMF 20th Century Lanes, singing in the choir at church, and working at Flowers Tommy Luke then Nancy's Floral, where she retired.
Nancy was a natural leader, and she excelled in everything she did.
Nancy is survived by her children, Michelle Lee Madsen, Michael Paul Hyman, and Lori Jean Madsen; brother, Thomas A. Mayer; grandchildren, Chris Potts, Marc Madsen, Amanda Madsen, Brandon Hyman, Ashley Willard, Nathan Jay Barclay, Nick Moore; two step grand-children, Kellen James Madsen and Lindsey Michelle Madsen; and great-grandchildren, Brad, Mason, Cali, Karly, Trenton, Carter, Reed, Benson, and Rylie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Ann Hyman, son, Jeffery Allen Hyman; sister, Patti E. Deyoe; and great-granddaughter, Savanna.
A graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2020, in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
