I wasn’t aware of Nancy’s(Mom) passing… I’m heartbroken💔😓… Nancy was always so kind to me.. She filled a void left by my own mother… both Marcus and Nancy are are sterling example of love, kindness, compassion, and wisdom… I met them at a grocery store and always kept in touch in Oregon… they moved a couple of times to be closer to their children… God had a special lady in heaven… she is loved and missed… Tenny Godsil

Nancy was my dear friend. When my mom passed she was there and then ,when I found out her illness was same that my mom had... I checked on her often. At the time I worked where she lived. I was hoping that the move to a new state where she could breathe better would  give her more time. We had birthdays close. Her birthday was December 8 and mine December 10 so we talked about that often.She was just the kind of person you felt like was family. She was there when I really needed friends. This fantastic lady was beautiful inside and out and I am sad to hear of her passing. The angels will enjoy her musical gifts and her smiling glow. Rest in peace friend. I was blessed to know you.

Mrs. Sassaman left a huge imprint on our lives as our captivating music teacher at Elmonica Elementary. We are so fortunate to have had her influence our love of music and performance as young people, and we both have carried that through to our adult lives. We were so sorry to miss her service. Please know that there is love for Mrs. Sassaman throughout this community from adults who remember her as the woman who guided them through their growth as musicians.

Performances we were fortunate to take part in with Mrs. Sassaman at the helm: Hansel and Gretel, Winter Wouldn't Wait, Peter Pan, The Nutcracker, and It's Music.

My Daughter, Tran Nguyen, did learn how to play the piano with Mrs.Sassaman for almost 7yrs. I did remember to watch Mrs.Sassaman teaching my daughter how to play the piano with all the Best She could while I was sitting in the Hallway. Now, all those memories was just in the past. R.I.P Mrs. Sassaman.

Mrs. Sassaman was my piano teacher from kindergarten until she retired when I was in high school--she shaped a large part of my childhood. The many years I spent learning from her makes me think I'll never stop feeling like a little kid when sitting on a piano bench; and when I look to my right, I'll see her taking notes in her signature cursive, ready to hand out compliments.
My family and I send our condolences to the Sassaman family. I struggle to find the right words to express my sadness, but more than anything, I want to convey my gratitude for the gift she gave all of us students. She constantly gave her 110% (maybe working a couple hours more than we [quietly] believed she should have) and believed in our capabilities more than we did in ourselves. She always knew what to challenge me with and helped me conquer feats I didn't know I could handle. Her kindness and free generosity towards everyone inspires me to be the same. We cannot begin to express our gratefulness for getting to know Mrs. Sassaman. Thank you so much for everything.

Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss.  Mrs Sassaman was our family music teacher for 17 years. She brought so much joy and happiness to our lives.  We never forget her generosity and caring for all her students.  My son, daughter, nieces (now in the 20, 30 and 40) still talked about Mrs Sassaman piano recital every times we sat around the piano during Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Mr & Mrs Sassaman made sure every Holiday recital is special one to remember with lots of cookies, drinks, flowers, trophies for everyone.  Her warmth, kindness and beautiful smile will be stayed with us forever.

Mrs. Sassaman was my piano teacher from elementary school through high school. Her intelligence, kindness, and guidance were all major factors in my decision to pursue music and child development in college. She found humor and joy in so many things- and she was so beautiful! We always looked forward to her recital outfits and I always wondered as a kid how her hair was always put together. She was perfect in my mind and is perfect in my memory. She’s always there, when I am sitting at the piano, or singing, or sat next to a kid showing them middle C. Thank you Mrs. Sassaman, and thank you to her family for letting us share her memory. Her influence will live on in so many of us.

Nancy Sassaman was a very large part of our lives as our kids were going through Elmonica.  She was an outstanding music teacher at the school, a great piano teacher to our kids and as time went on, she and Marcus became good friends to us personally!  She had impact on everyone in her life through family, friendships, church and neighbors. We will always be grateful for the time we had with her and send our condolences and prayers to Marcus and the family.

Nancy was a wonderful Sister-In-Law that I loved so much.
God Blessed Nancy with so many talents and used them for God. Nancy was a loving wife and mother. She touch so many lives mine was one of many.
