Norman Lee Helberg

7 February, 19307 October, 2021

Born and raised in Fairmont Oklahoma, Norman attended the University of Oklahoma, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. Norman married his college sweetheart, Mauritta and they moved to Portland, Oregon where they had a son, David. Norman went to work for Freightliner on Swan Island and retired after a distinguished career of 39 years. Much of Norman and Mauritta’s lives were dedicated to their nearly 60 year membership with Resurrection Lutheran Church, where Norman volunteered his time for many projects. They were also members of local square dance troops, including The Stars and Garters, as well as The Lucky Squares. Norman is deeply loved and dearly missed.

Uncle Norman will be missed by all of us. He was so kind and talented. We looked forward to seeing him when he visited Oklahoma. He never got any alone time here as we were all so eager to spend time with him. He shared his voice and his talents, such as woodworking and gardening, with us. Tears will be shed but we know he is with his Heavenly Father and reunited with his parents, sisters, and brother.
