Patricia Belle Paul Faddis was born on November 30, 1925, in Riverside, California, the second child of Elizabeth Bigger Paul and Clarence Dewey Paul. She passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in West Linn, Oregon, at the remarkable age of 100.
Patricia is survived by her three children: Bonnie Faddis (Bill Baker) of West Linn, Oregon; John A. Faddis of Ramona, California; and Lesley A. Woodsmith (Don) of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She leaves behind five grandchildren—John P. Faddis of San Diego; Joseph Faddis of Ramona; Jane Faddis Green of Ramona; Caitlin Baker Bechtold of Lake Oswego, Oregon; and Megan Baker of Oakland, California—as well as four great-grandchildren: Harper, Caleb, and Delaney Bechtold of Lake Oswego, and Ashley Faddis of New York.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Walter Faddis; her great-grandson, John William Faddis; her brother Richard (Betty) Paul; and her sister Jean (Richard) Olson.
Pat spent her early childhood in Riverside before moving with her family to Glendale, California. During her senior year of high school, the family relocated to San Diego, where she graduated from Hoover High School in 1943. It was in San Diego that she met John. They married in 1945 and built a partnership that endured more than six decades.
Most of Pat’s life was spent in La Mesa, California, where she and John raised their three children. In 2008, she moved to Oregon, embracing the opportunity to live near Bonnie, her grandchildren, and eventually her great-grandchildren. One of the great joys of her later years was celebrating her 100th birthday in November 2025, surrounded by generations of family and many cherished nieces and nephews.
After retiring from the phone company in 1970, Pat continued to stay active by working part-time in two La Mesa fabric stores—an ideal fit for someone who loved quilting and never passed up a good fabric discount. She created quilts well into her nineties, each one stitched with care and given with love. Pat also enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her Christian faith was a central part of her life, and she looked forward with peace and confidence to joining her Lord in heaven.
A private memorial service for immediate family was held on March 3 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon, where Pat was laid to rest beside her husband John.
Patricia will be remembered for her humor, her creativity, her steadfast faith, and the deep love she held for her family. Her long life was a blessing to all who knew her.
