

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell, parents Orlando and Mabel Redding, brother Donald Redding (known as Buzzie), and sister Helen Jay.
Phyllis is survived by her children and their spouses, Dennis Harding (Beverly), Debbie Grumbo (late Dick Grumbo), Pam Guthrie (Brad), Rita McClellan (Steve), and 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Eileen Schwindt of Garden City, KS, Edith Stout of Colorado Springs, CO, her brother Robert Redding of Avondale, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
On November 30, 1930, Phyllis was born in Marienthal, Kansas to Orlando and Mabel Redding. She was the youngest daughter of 6 children. Eventually, they moved to Colorado Springs, CO where she met her husband, Darrell Harding who was in the army and stationed at Camp Carson. They were married on July 3, 1949 and began their family in 1950. After living in Colorado Springs, CO, Omaha, NE, and Leoti, KS, they made their way to Eugene and then finally to Portland in the mid 1950’s where they lived for the rest of their lives.
During their life they loved to dance, especially square dancing, to travel, the outdoors, playing cards, and especially being with friends and family. One of her most enjoyable hobbies was craftwork. She loved all kinds of craftwork and loved to teach anyone in her family who was interested in what she was doing. Many family members were recipients of her craftwork “labors of love” throughout the years.
