Ralph Lewis Morrison was born on March 29th, 1922 in Portland, Oregon. His mother Myra Thompson died in February of 1955, the same year his only child was born – his daughter, Debra Louise Morrison. He married Louise McCallum on June 28th, 1952 and they were married for 59 years. When he married Louise, he also took on her two children: William and James Smuland, from her previous marriage. He loved and raised them as his own. At an early age, Ralph was put into Oregon’s Civilian Conservation Corps camp where he lived and worked for two years. After that time, he came back to Portland and drove for Radio Cab for two years. He was then old enough to get a commercial driver’s license where he then began his life long truck driving career. He drove commercial and long haul until he retired. At one point in his life he owned a 46’ fishing boat “La Voiger”, and his own semi-truck. Ralph also became a self-taught entrepreneur. He learned how to be a machinist, carpenter, plumber, roofer, electrician, paver, mechanic, seamen, and excavationist. In his later years, for 30 years, he studied the bible and was very versed in the word of the Lord Jesus Christ. He lived the life of a Christian man and he died a Christian man. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed
