Robert Simeon Fambro

Robert Simeon Fambro, passed away on Thursday, May 19th, 2011 after an extended illness. Robert was born on April 3, 1957 in Fort Valley Georgia to Robert and Clara Fambro. After moving to Oregon, Robert settled in the Cornelius Pass Road area, where he attended Skyline Elementary School and later attended and graduated from Benson High School in 1975. Robert was on the baseball team and in his senior year at high school, he got a job at Interstate Air condition and worked for 5 years before becoming a Longshoreman with the ILWU Local 8 for the next 22 years. Robert retired from the Longshoreman Union in 2004.

Throughout the 80's through 1995, Robert would have an annual neigborhood party for the 4th of July, serving between 100-200 people every year with fireworks display and BBQ.

Robert was a member of The First Presbyterian Church in downtown Portland. Robert also was a member of the Mason Lodge # 55, Port Valley Scottish Rites, York Rite, Shiners, and Amaranth.

Robert is survived by his mother, Clara Fambro, 1 brother, David Fambro of Portland, Oregon and 1 sister, Dollie Fambro of Vancouver Washington. Robert's father, Robert B. Fambro, preceded him in death.

A Viewing will be held on Tuesday May 24th at Caldwell's Hennessey, Goetsch & McGee 20 NE 14th Ave. Portland, from 12PM to 4PM. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 1PM.
