Robert Chee Wah Hing Gee, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Portland, on Thursday, July 2, 2015. He was born October 5, 1921 in Wingon, Canton, China and immigrated to the United States in 1935.
He graduated from high school in Amarillo, Texas in 1939.
During World War II, he served in the United States Navy on the USS North Carolina as a Fireman 1st class.
On April 29, 1947 he married Lorraine Seu Ying Wong. Together, Robert and Lorraine ran a popular local restaurant for over 30 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Lorraine; children, Carol Marr Vreeland, Glen Gee, and Rhonda Gee; and grandchildren, Daniel Jenkins, Renee Jenkins and Cece Wenning.
